TotalEnergies ouvre la voie avec la première gamme de lubrifiants haut de gamme approuvée par les fabricants d’équipement d’origine (OEM) à base d’huiles re-raffinées.
Paris, mai 2024 –TotalEnergies Lubrifiants breaks new ground with Quartz EV3R, the first range of lubricants made from regenerated base oils that offer the same level of performance as conventional oils, approved by many car manufacturers.
A lubricant is made up of a mix of base oils and additives. For this innovative new range, TotalEnergies Lubrifiants' R&D teams have meticulously selected high-quality regenerated base oils to formulate new premium, environmentally responsible lubricants.
Replacing conventional base oils, these regenerated base oils offer the same quality, which results in a range of high-performance, eco-responsible lubricants. This new range is in line with TotalEnergies Lubrifiants' eco-design approach and the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Regenerate) for the responsible management of end-of-life products and the resulting waste. In addition, the ranges' 1L and 5L bottles are made from 50% recycled plastic.
Following the launch of Quartz EV3R 10W-40 (for passenger cars), other viscosity grades will follow in 2025. Rubia EV3R 15W-40 and 10W-30 (for heavy duty vehicles) will be launched in summer 2024.
Pierre Duhot, Senior Vice President Lubricants and Specialties at TotalEnergies, said: “We are proud to launch this Quartz EV3R range. TotalEnergies Lubrifiants is committed to accelerating the market's transformation towards sustainability without compromising on performance and is leading the way with this first manufacturer-approved high-performance circular economy lubricants range.”
